Erin Cardillo’s Esme is a cross between FRIEND’S Janice, a woman you love to be annoyed by, and the jet-setting Posh Spice hopped up on aphrodisiacs – with a little Fran Drescher thrown in. Whether she’s getting frisky with a feline costumed lover covered in catnip or giving Fancy advice about Luis for the umpteeth time, Esme steals the scene. She is snobby and glamorous, all while trying to juggle the voices in her overly medicated head. She’s laugh our loud funny, with moments of raw emotion. Extreme role-playing is her game, though she never remembers the man’s name. She falls hard and fast, then brushes off the deaths of her lovers as if they were last seasons Manolos.
